The somewhat poor indexing, omission of a glossary and lack of any systematic cross referencing system such as numbering of subheadings makes it difficult to follow arguments which rely on concepts and results introduced earlier. The book uses linear algebra to discuss quantum physics —no surprise there— but instead of dragging the student through full blown infinite dimensional Hilbert Spaces, Dr. Bernhardt uses only a two- dimensional (mostly) vector space over Real numbers to illustrate the concepts. Chapter two covers the basics of linear algebra but — unaccountably — does not introduce tensor products which are dropped into the entanglement chapter without prior definition only to be explained a few pages later. The first chapter introduces the basic physics of observing electron spin and the polarisation of photons — the latter being particularly interesting.
